Panel Information

Our goal is to unearth those unsung “Black Unicorns” who spin their magic in the shadows while working tirelessly to bring their talents, passion and vision to light. We want to let the world know that we are here. We aim to inspire and educate the next generation of artists by sharing our unique stories.

This panel will focus on those amazing journeys.

Audrea Topps Harjo

Audrea Topps Harjo has worked in the entertainment industry for almost 30 years. She has worked for Sony Pictures (CONTACT), Cinesite (X-MEN 2) Electronic Arts, WETA FX (RISE OF THE PLANETS OF THE APES), James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment (AVATAR SEQUELS).

She currently in development on a number of projects and resides in Washington, DC

Sheena Duggal

Sheena Duggal is an acclaimed visual effects supervisor, director and artist whose work has shaped numerous
studio tent-pole and Academy Award nominated productions. She is known for her design skills, creative direction and visual effects supervision on blockbuster films such as VENOM, THE HUNGER GAMES and CONTACT.
Duggal is also a published photographer, holds a BA (hons) in graphic design specializing in animation and lens media.

Earl Hibbert

Earl broke into Animation at the young age of 18. By age 19 he was working for Steven Spielberg at Amblin Ent. After working on four films there, he relocated to Los Angeles in 1997 and was hired by Warner Bros Animation, where he worked on such movies as Space Jam (1996), Quest for Camelot ( 1998) Iron Giant (1999) and Looney Toons Back in Action (2003), as TMNT (2007) Animation Effects Supervisor and Layout Artist. 

 

Earl has written and directed short films that have won awards on the festival circuit, and written
several feature screenplays of various genres, from philological thriller, to science fiction.

Greg Anderson

Greg Anderson is currently Head of Studio and Senior VFX Supervisor for the FuseFX New York office. He was FuseFX’s first employee in NY in 2014, since then building the office to over 75.  Greg has directly supervised the visual effects for the hit Marvel television series Luke Cage, The Punisher, and Iron Fist, and has overseen the work on several other award-winning shows, including The Blacklist, The Get Down, and Mr. Robot, for which he and his team received an Emmy Nominated in 2018.  Most recently, Greg supervised the visual effects for Ava DuVernay’s Netflix limited series, When They See Us.

Greg is a member of both the Television Academy and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Leslie Chung

Provides Onset Supervision, In House Supervision, Creative Direction, Manage and train resources for all projects in the New York office, establish and maintain client relations, provide bids and breakdowns, ensure projects are delivered on time and of the highest quality, execute final comp of VFX shots.

Nuke, Mocha Pro, Nuke Studio, Silhouette Roto, Photoshop, Illustrator

Specialties: VFX Compositing & Look Dev, Project Lead

Andrew Roberts

Andrew Roberts is an award-winning CG Supervisor with over 25 years experience creating VFX for video games, TV and film. He Joined ScanlineVFX in 2017, helping supervise work on Aquaman, Gemini Man, Cosmos: Possible Worlds and Godzilla vs Kong.

​

Additional credits include Independence Day: Resurgence, Sucker Punch, Snow White & the Huntsman and Avatar.

Aaron Holly

Aaron has a career spanning over two decades in feature animation and visual effects at studios including Disney, Dreamworks Animation, ILM and Weta Digital. He’s worked on numerous major movies as well as his own indie films.

 

Aaron is currently working in technology development at Apple.

Maricel Pagulayan

Maricel’s dedication to giving voice to the under-represented began while studying Political Science at U.C. Berkeley, where she began a career in radio journalism. Trained at the Pacifica Radio Network’s KPFA through a program geared toward bringing women and minorities into broadcasting, she went on to produce documentary and dramatic features that garnered awards from the Corporation of Public Broadcasting and were distributed through National Public Radio (NPR). Influenced by the political movements in the Bay Area, Maricel seeks out projects that raise tough moral questions and delve into complex issues of injustice.

​

In Visual Effects, Maricel just recently completed Season 2 of Mandalorian and DUNE with Denis Villeneuve as Visual Effects Producer. Other credits include: Godzilla, King of the Monsters, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Spider Man: Homecoming, Valkyrie, Avatar, Smurfs and Xmen 2.
